Ivor founded the British Scurry and Trials Driving back in 2012. Ivor Williams, a well-known name on the Double Harness Scurry circuit throughout the 1980s right through to 2005, he understands just what the BSTD needs to excel. A prime contact for the show organisers, chief course builder, obstacle designer and many more important roles – there is nothing this man does not know. From his ponies Tyme and Tide, Peaches and Cream, Moonrise and Sunset later replaced by Moondust following the sad loss of Sunset, Moondust is still competing, and Ivor is still living his competitive life through his daughter Chloe who now competes Moondust as part of her pair of chestnuts mares, Tutti and Frutti.

Carole Davenport, a founding member of the sport and a qualified BHSI, with years of experience in all aspects of equestrianism such as show jumping, eventing while also training the Pony Club’s show jumping team before starting her driving career following a fall which resulted in a broken back. Despite the team at York Hospital nursing her back to full health, Carole took up carriage driving, having many successful results in show driving – before she decided to swap it for what she had seen at country shows, scurry driving with her pair of black Shetlands Spit and Fire. Carole is now the BSTD's administrator and health and safety officer while also carrying out pre show admin tasks, judging and commentating.

Jack Williams, son of Ivor and a distinguished commentator has been immersed in the world of British Scurry and Trials Driving from a young age. His versatility allows him to seamlessly take on various roles, including driving, backstepping, course building, judging, and commentating. A natural leader in the arena, Jack has now taken on increasing responsibility of course designing, building, and overall event coordination. Additionally, he serves as the primary point of contact for entries and registrations while managing the majority of pre-show administrative tasks, ensuring smooth operations from start to finish. His dedication, professionalism, and deep-rooted passion for the sport makes him an invaluable asset to the British Scurry and Trials Driving community.

She now takes a more behind the scenes role, taking charge of social media presence and now aids in the discussions with show organisers while also driving her pair of chestnut mares Tutti and Frutti as well as being a tru

She now takes a more behind the scenes role, taking charge of social media presence and now aids in the discussions with show organisers while also driving her pair of chestnut mares Tutti and Frutti as well as being a trusty backstepper for some of the best in the business. Chloe is joined by Luke Baker, her boyfriend, who takes charge of media content using action cameras which can often be seen in various places on the carriage, he is also Chloe’s reliable groom throughout the season.
Our wonderful team consisting of helpers and individuals led by Ivor Williams that know the sport better than anyone else and are a crucial factor in ensuring everything within the arena runs safely and efficiently.
